Who We Are
BIA is Business Improvement Area. The Downtown Woodstock Business Improvement Area, whose mandate is t o enhance the beauty, commercial vitality and unique character of Downtown, was established in 1976 through a by-law of Woodstock City Council.
A volunteer Board of members oversees the direction and workings of the not-for-profit organization. Their 4- year term of office coincides with that of Municipal Council.
All commercial property owners are charged a special levy on their tax bills, which makes them, and in turn their commercial business tenants, automatically members of the B.I.A.
Our boundaries take in all commercial & industrial properties between Hunter/Princess St. to Bay/Beale St. to Main St. to Oxford/Mill St.
Associate Memberships
In 2009, the Board of Management approved a plan to add “Associate Members” to our membership that are currently located outside our boundaries. Below are the benefits to businesses wishing to join the Downtown Woodstock BIA as an Associate Member:
• Listing in BIA Business Directory, Visitors Guide and Website as an Associate Member
• Downtown Woodstock Newsletter
• Electronic Communications
• Downtown Woodstock Employee Incentive Card Program
• Participation in Promotions and Advertising

• Participation on Committees and be a non-voting member
• Input into events, advocacy and voice in local affairs
